Training at home? Hitting an open mat? You can still recreate our routine in under 10 minutes. Just focus on:
- Light cardio: jumping jacks or jogging in place
- Core activation: sit-ups and bridges
- Functional Jiu-Jitsu movement: shrimping, break falls, hip escapes
Even five minutes is better than nothing. The key is consistency.

- Dynamic Mobility (5 minutes) – Shoulder circles, hip openers, spinal rolls, no static stretching here.
- Functional Drills (5–7 minutes) – Shrimping, bridges, bear crawls, and Jiu-Jitsu warm-up drills like break falls or triangle setups.
- Technical Flows (optional) – Light solo movements or paired sequences to activate the brain.
- Warm-Up Rolls (optional) – Flow rolling with a partner to connect movement and breath.
This is also the routine I use before competition, with an emphasis on control, breath, and activation.

If you’re feeling sore, recovering from an injury, or just getting back into training, modifying your warm-up is not only okay, it’s smart.
Swap high-impact moves for mobility-focused options. Spend more time activating the joints and muscles that need extra support. And most of all, listen to your body.
You can still show up and train with intention, just move with care.
